My experiences at hotels

One of the hobbies of my parents is to travel, so I use to stay at so many hotels along the year. Some of them are very good, others only good, and others not so good. But it does not matter, because when we´re visiting places, we use to walk a lot, and when I get to the hotel by the night, my only desire is to have a clean and comfortable bed. And every hotel offers you a tidy and good-smelling room.

If I have to chose one of them, I must say the prettiest was the one I stayed in Avila, this Easter-Holidays.

My best experience at a restaurant

My best experience at a restaurant, probably, was the worst for my family.

It happened during the autumn of 05.

Like most of the years, my family and me (included aunts, uncles, cousins...) went to a typical basque restaurant where people uses to go to eat beans and lamb. Poor of me, I hate beans.

I must say the lunch was going perfectly: the children talking to each other, adults discussing among them... until my cousing Jon Ander, aged 8, started to explain us a veeeery important thing with faces and signs. While he was narrating the story, a witress passed near him, and with his hands he threw all the lamb´s tray down.

The other clients turned the head to realize what had happened. The waitress was soaked of sauce and the poor roast lamb was on the stony floor.

It had been cleaned by other waiter, becouse the other one, had to go to change her clothes.

I couldn´t stop laughing for almost more than 10 minutes, and my brother and cousins too.

Minutes were passing, and everything seemed that had returned to its normality.

But no.

When we were at the desserts, the same waitress was walking rapidly to serve other clients with a big plate plenty of beans, when she slipped with a frie had been on the ground and fell down. And the beans fell upon her.

What a dissaster!!!

It had been a ver funny day (for me, of course). I think my family never haven´t feel so embarrased. And now, when I think on it, I already start laughing, but I know that if it happened today, I´d feel as embarrased as my family did.

Stand by me.

This is the best film I have ever seen.

It was recorded in 1986, by its director: Rob Reiner. Based on a Stephen Kings´ novel,it tells the story of 4 young friends, that will walk for two days becouse it is rumored the train has run over a young boy, and they want to find the corpse.

They´ll live a special adventure, which will narrow their friendship, becoming those few days in an unforgettable memory they´ll have present in their whole life.

As I have said, it´s my favourite film, although I´ve seen it 50 times, it still continues in this privilegiate position.

Its OST (original soundtrack) is the Ben E. Kings´ famous song, Stand by me ( from it comes the name of the film). All the main characters and the original singer, appears on the ending of the film singing. It´s really wonderful, I love it.

VW Golf ...ETC...

First of all, sorry because of the poor quality of the video!!! I have not been able to find a better one.

I always have loved this comercial. It´s not anything special, but I really like it. They are selling us a VW trade mark car, narrating all his components in its whole history.

The well-known Volkswagen Golf was born in 1974, and since then, they have renewed the car 5 times. At first, it only had just one famous component, but 4 generations later, it hah so many things to relate that for the fifth, they had had to put ETC (etcetera) in order to write all the abbreviations. I thinks there is the message: we give you all the facilities in just one word (or car), ETC.

Obviusly, I had not even been born in 1974, but it makes me feel nostalgic and melancholic. And I don´t know why. Maybe, it´s because of the song, Jewel´s version of Bizarre love triangle, is one of my favourites.

This was kalimero, our pretty little chick.

It was the sumer of the 06, when it saw, for the first time, my desk lamp. Just few minutes later of the egg laying, her mother left the nest with Kalimeros´egg inside.

Soon, you will be able to see here a photo of
Kalimero with my brother´s arm

My father has an unusual hobbie: to grow up eggs until they are born. At first, the main character of the story i´m telling you, was just one more of the dozens of eggs my father has adopted. They say that the light and the heat of the lamps can do perfectly the work of the hens incubating eggs.

Continueing with the story of Kalimero, I must say it was the middle of July when it´s born. I was not at home (I don´t remember where I was), but when I arrived, my father told me the chick was born and was alive (some of them don´t survive). I run rapidly to my green desk, and saw the little chick into a very big tuper, tryng to jump out from it. I took it on my hands, and saw its minuscle head. I remembered the TV cartoons called Kalimero, and thought it was a funny name to call it. It´s not the most perfect name, because the original Kalimero is totally black and my chick was compleetly yellow. But I liked it.

Kalimero passed 10 days more-and-less with us in our house, and when my father tought it was preppared to survive with the other chicks, we left it on the chicken coop.

I know it was just a chick, but it was so charmy... The days it passed with us were only 10, but its story stirres me. Few months later we left Kalimero with its family, a fox came and ate all of them.

That´s an animal life.

Kalimero, we loved you!!!
